Six motorists behind bars for speeding in the Kempton Park area

The Ekurhuleni Metropolitan Police Department (EMPD) High Speed Unit Officers, apprehended six speeding drivers between the age of 21 and 51 years old, for exceeding the speed limit in the Kempton park area.

While conducting a High Speed operation, on the Great North Road, as part of monitoring driver behaviour and reducing the number of road fatalities throughout the City of Ekurhuleni.

One excuse for being late cannot bring back a life, as Officers stopped a White Toyota Quantum, Two white Toyota Aygo, a green Volkswagen Scirocco, a yellow Toyota Aygo, white Ford pickup bakkie and a Red Isuzu bakkie, which happened to be driven by a wanted suspect for contempt of court. Officers discovered the information while booking the suspect for speeding at the Kempton Park police station.

All drivers who failed to comply with the designated speed limit of 70km/h were handcuffed and marched to Kempton Park SAPS. The six males are expected to appear in the Kempton Park Magistrate’s Court soon.
