Four suspects between the ages of 22 and 27 will today appear before the Tlhabane Magistrates’ Court for possession of suspected stolen vehicle, a firearm and ammunition. Their court appearance stems from an incident reported on Tuesday morning, 15 October 2024.
It is alleged that members of Rustenburg Flying Squad and Rustenburg K9 Unit, followed-up on information received with the assistance of Tracker South Africa and that led the members to Tantanana Cattle post, in Phokeng. A stolen Toyota Quantum which was already being stripped, was recovered. Another vehicle, a Volkswagen Polo was also searched, leading to the discovery of an unlicensed firearm with ammunition under the driver’s seat. Four suspects were immediately arrested.
The Provincial Police Commissioner, Lieutenant General Sello Kwena, commended the officers for their quick response that led to the apprehension of the perpetrators, he said police will continue to work hard to ensure that criminals are removed from society.
