An alert motorist noticed a suspect fleeing a property in Lenham Drive, Phoenix and notified KZNVIP Officers and also provided a clothing description.
KZNVIP Officers made their way and noticed community members chasing an African male suspect, KZNVIP also engaged in the chase as the suspect was hoping between properties in an attempt to evade arrest.
Moments later the suspect was apprehended by KZNVIP. The suspect was found in possession of a knife which he produced for the female homeowner who screamed for help and disturbed the suspect whilst he was trying to gain entry into the home.
KZNVIP Medics responded to the scene as well to assess the home owner, she was highly traumatized following the incident but escaped with minor injuries.
SAPS was called in and the suspect was then arrested and detained.
