Durban Metro Police Service Drug Team Operation

Scene 1: In the early hours of this morning, members of the Durban Metro Police Drug Team conducted an operation in the Welbedacht area to apprehend suspects wanted for murder. At one of the identified properties, a Silver VW Polo was found on the premises. Upon inspection, it was noted that the vehicle’s ignition had been tampered with.

A check on the Natis system revealed the car was stolen. The vehicle has been booked at Chatsworth South African Police Service. Although the suspects were not located, further intelligence led to another property belonging to a relative of one of the suspects.

Scene 2: At the second property, the suspects wanted for murder were not found. However, during a search of the premises, officers arrested the occupant for drug possession. The search yielded 53 mandrax tablets, 12 bags of crystal meth, and 21 pieces of cocaine.

The suspect was charged with possession of these substances and is detained at Chatsworth SAPS.
