Quick action, well done to all parties! Around 13:07 yesterday, Fidelity SecureDrive received information of a Ford Ranger that was hijacked between the R21 and R24.
The driver was stopped by three armed suspects; they drove to Katlehong, where they dropped the driver. The driver managed to get to the nearest police station. The team activated the tracking unit, and the Fidelity SIU team and other security companies were dispatched to the last known location.
The vehicle was spotted inside a yard in the Soweto Braamfischer area, with no visual of the suspects. The teams managed to gain access to the premises and found that the vehicle had been stripped inside. A few minutes later, one suspect came out of the house; the teams apprehended the suspect immediately.
The suspect was handed over to Doornkop SAPS.
