Premier of Limpopo to lead the launch of multi-disciplinary safer festive season operations

Today, 27 October 2024, marks a significant step forward in Limpopo’s fight against crime, corruption, and lawlessness. Premier Dr. Phophi Ramathuba will lead the provincial launch of Safer Festive Season Operations at Lebowakgomo Zone R Sports Ground in Capricorn District.

Joining the Premier will be MEC for Transport and Community Safety, Ms. Violet Mathye, and Provincial Commissioner of the South African Police Service, Lieutenant General Thembi Hadebe. This year’s launch is themed “Combating crime through decisive police action and robust community involvement.”

Lieutenant General Hadebe will outline plans to ensure residents, holidaymakers, and businesses feel safe during the festive season and beyond. Meanwhile, Premier Ramathuba will mobilize the multi-disciplinary forces, including newly recruited Police Constables.

The event will culminate in the handover of 60 high-powered vehicles, equipped with the latest technology, to enhance police operations during the festive season. This launch demonstrates the province’s commitment to safety and security.
