In another engagement with stakeholders from the Makhado Local Municipality, represented by the Zoutpansberg Community Development Forum, including members of the local Taxi Association, the MEC emphasised the importance of this platform in addressing the community’s pressing challenges. The MEC conveyed that he initiated this Stakeholder Engagement platform upon recognising these community concerns, which he shares and takes seriously.
Despite the challenges also faced by his Department, the MEC expressed optimism that solutions are achievable. He acknowledged that government is actively working on strategies to address these issues, stressing that these meetings are critical and his commitment to them remains steadfast. Additionally, he highlighted the importance of ongoing assessment and monitoring of affected roads, noting that meaningful action should follow discussions.
The Chairperson of the Forum commended the progress seen in parts of the municipality, where some roads have been completed and are well-constructed. However, he also highlighted some roads that still require significant attention, along with bridges in need of improvement.
