Family Robbed During Braai: Parkgate – KZN

A family of five (5) including a 17-month-old baby girl and her nanny were robbed on Colchester Crescent in Parkgate – KZN a short while ago (Friday).

The victims were having a braai when a lone suspect entered the yard through a damaged boundary wall. The robber was armed with a firearm and instructed the victims to enter the house. He fired a single shot inside the home and demanded cellphones and car keys. The family handed over three (3) phones and ATM cards. The robber fled through a dense bush at the rear of the property after he was unable to locate the vehicle keys.

Members of Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) were called out to the residence at approximately 17:21. On arrival, Reaction Officers inspected the spent cartridge and established that it was from a blank gun. Reaction Officers conducted an extensive search for the suspect, but no arrests were made.

No injuries were reported.
