South Africa shines in Stellantis Student Awards

Adrielle Naidoo, daughter of Stellantis South Africa Collin Naidoo has won the coveted Sergio Marchione Award and notches up the family’s second consecutive year of recognition in the Stellantis Student Awards.

“It is initiatives such as this that provides incredible depth to Stellantis’ approach to sustainability,” said Managing Director of Stellantis South Africa, Mike Whitfield. “Congratulations to our extended families: we are proud to have you as part of ours.”

The Stellantis Student Awards have strong historical roots in the organisation and a modern vision: to help support our next generation of trailblazers. Built on the foundation of sustainability and continuous learning, the awards celebrate student children of Stellantis employees who show promise in changing the world for the good of all.

Open to permanent employees’ student children under the age of 26, applicants were required to submit their school results and an essay on offering affordable and accessible decarbonised mobility. Applications were judged on creativity, grades, and the student’s involvement in an array of extramural activities.

More than 1,200 high school and college graduates from around the Stellantis world entered the company’s awards programme, which searches for children of employees who recently graduated high school or university and who demonstrated outstanding academic excellence, a commitment to community involvement, and admirable personal motivations.

All 2024 award recipients were selected based on the same global weighted criteria. The awards were made today at an event hosted by Stellantis Chairman, John Elkann.

This award represents visionary young leaders leveraging their education for a better world; exactly the kind of high-potential talent needed at Stellantis. Each winner will be invited to interview with Stellantis leadership to secure a position in the Company supporting the needs of their corresponding region. Depending on their experience and skillset, this position could be an internship/apprenticeship, full-time position, or special project support.
