Beach areas is being searched for alcohol under EThekwini Municipality Bylaws

Our officers are out in full force this festive season, ensuring the safety and compliance of all visitors, especially at our beaches. Every vehicle entering our beach areas is being searched for alcohol, as drinking in public is strictly prohibited under EThekwini Municipality Bylaws.

At Anstey’s Beach in the Bluff/Brighton Beach, 16 people have been charged and removed from the area for drinking in a public place. Let’s all work together to keep our beaches safe, clean, and enjoyable for everyone.

We urge all residents and visitors to respect the rules and enjoy responsibly. Failure to comply will result in strict enforcement.
