Two women who were arrested by Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) on November 11, 2024 have been granted bail after being held in custody for 58 days.
Rushendree Reddy (39) and Indrani Moodley (49) were arrested after they laced the tea of 75-year-old pensioner with sedatives and robbed him of valuables.
Reddy was tracked to her home in Montford in Chatsworth – KZN by Reaction Officers. She held on to her son for approx. an hour to avoid arrest and was eventually restrained and detained.
Moodley was then tracked to her home in Sunford in Phoenix – KZN and apprehended by Reaction Officers. She was intoxicated at the time of arrest.
The duo have a history of drugging and robbing elderly victims and different locations in Kwazulu Natal. Both have pending House Robbery cases and Reddy was convicted on a similar charge and compensated her previous victim by paying back R2 million. She was handed a ten year prison sentence wholly suspended for five years. Her co-accused is currently serving a lengthy prison sentence.
Reddy was granted bail of R10 000 and Moodley was given bail of R5000 by the Verulam Magistrates Court yesterday (Tuesday).
Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) had previously withheld Body Cam Footage & identities of both accused pending the bail application.
