Police nab a 43-year-old man for possession of illegal firearms after tip-off

On Wednesday 15 January 2025 at around 19:30 Dawn park crime prevention received a tip-off from an anonymous person has led to an arrest at Hassink Street.

An African male (43) was seen loading a heavy bag at the back of a Nissan np200 bakkie,upon the tip off given police acting on the information, rushed to the scene and blue lights were actived to stop the bakkie and asked to search the man and the bakkie.

Firearms and ammunition were found after the suspect failed to produce a firearm license. The man was then nabbed for possession of 2 illegal firearms and live ammunition.

The suspect was then detained in Dawn Park Saps and is expected to appear in court soon.
