Around midday, the Volunteer Emergency Medical Response Unit received a call for assistance from our Mental health support team for an aggressive elderly patient who needed to be transported to the hospital as they are unable to care for themselves and living alone.
Through compassion and understanding, our skilled specialist managed to calm the patient down to a point where she agreed to be transported by the ambulance without the need for further intervention.
The member accompanied the patient to the hospital and helped them with the admission process.
