The fire has been successfully extinguished thanks to the quick actions of the Oudtshoorn Fire Department, Garden Route Fire Department, and Cape Nature.
The WoF Chopper was used to get water from one of the De Hoek swimming pools to extinguish the fire. There was also a team on the ground that assisted.
The municipality would like to express its gratitude to all teams involved for their swift response after a fire broke out in the Swartberg Pass earlier this afternoon due to the thunder.
