The Acting Provincial Commissioner of the SAPS in Mpumalanga, Major General ( Dr) Zeph Mkhwanazi has condemned the killing of three people at Mekemeke near Malelane this morning, Thursday 30 January 2025.
Police attended the scene and found three bodies tied and hanged, severely assaulted and burnt. The motive behind the killing is unknown at this stage, and the suspects have not yet been located. The circumstances surrounding this incident will form part of the investigation, which has commenced.
Police urge members of the community to assist with any information regarding this incident or information that can assist in finding those behind this horrific incident, ensuring that the perpetrators are swiftly brought to book. The Acting Provincial Commissioner of the SAPS in Mpumalanga, Major General (Dr) Zeph Mkhwanazi has already assembled a team of investigators to probe this incident with the hope of a breakthrough in a short space of time. “We are really disturbed by this barbaric act committed against other human beings. People seem to have lost their morals, but we want to assure all that we will work hard and get the perpetrators behind bars,” said the General.
