The Ekurhuleni Metropolitan Police Department (EMPD) Clayville precinct Officers, attended to a complaint of an Illegal Mechanic in the Clayville area.
Officers received a complaint from members of the community about an Illegal mechanic, that is in contravention of the municipal by-laws by fixing , panel beating and spray painting cars on the sidewalk.
Officers immediately visited the area at extension 25, were the said mechanic was found and it was discovered that he was previously given warnings. The Officers impounded x3 vehicles, x1 compressor and tools were confiscated.
The City of Ekurhuleni (COE) warns residents to refrain from conducting any illegal businesses on the sidewalk and to visit their nearest customer care centre to obtain a trading permit.
