The Gauteng Traffic Police arrested a 46-year-old male driver for exceeding the alcohol limit with 1.06 readings along the Welgedacht road.
The suspect was driving a Mazda under the influence of alcohol which is a serious threat to other road users as this can cause fatal accidents.
The Gauteng Department of Community Safety strongly condemns such reckless behavior.
There will be no tolerance for irresponsible behaviour on the road, therefore law enforcement agencies will continue to intensify road safety operations, particularly targeted at drunk driving, speeding, and unroadworthy vehicles.
