A suspect was apprehended in the K-Naven area of Phoenix by KZN VIP members this morning for the theft of a power cable.
During a routine patrol, KZN VIP officers noticed a suspicious male transporting a power cable along the roadway. Backup support vehicles were dispatched, and the suspect was quickly apprehended.
Upon searching the suspect, officers found a heavy-duty power cable, approximately 2-3 meters in length. The suspect confessed to stealing the cable from a power station near the Phoenix Police Station area and intended to sell it at a local scrapyard in Trennersmanna.
The suspect was arrested, detained, and handed over to SAPS for further processing.
