Following reports that the suspect was on the run, members of the Task Team were deployed to locate and arrest him. On 24 February 2025, at approximately 20:30, the team received a #TipOff regarding a vehicle travelling through Section F. The team swiftly responded, located the vehicle, and conducted a tactical stop.
The suspect, who was a passenger in the vehicle, was positively identified and arrested.
The arrest stems from the alleged repeated rape of a 30-year-old victim over a two-day period at E Section, Botshabelo. The suspect is also alleged to have fatally stabbed a 34-year-old woman who attempted to leave his residence after consuming wine he had provided.
