Members of the Makhaza Hijacking Team responded to information they received of occupants of a silver Toyota Starlett who are committing housebreakings in the Makhaza, Khayelitsha area on Wednesday afternoon.
The vehicle was spotted in Qala Close, Makhaza, where the suspects were busy loading household goods in the vehicle. The members stopped the vehicle as it was moving away from the address. A refrigerator, a cooker hood, a television set, a sound bar, a cellular telephone, remote controls and an imitation firearm with blank rounds were found inside the vehicle. Three suspects between 24 and 48 were arrested for housebreaking and theft, possession of stolen property and the possession of an imitation firearm. The vehicle used in the commission of the offence was confiscated and handed in as an exhibit.
The suspects will make their court appearance in the Khayelitsha Magistrates’ Court on Friday, 28 February 2025 on the mentioned charges.
