Armed robbery suspect arrested on Komati Street in Emmerentia

a call was received from our officer reporting an armed robbery on Komati Street, Emmerentia. The victim approached our officer at Wimpy Eatery along Barry Hertzog, Emmerentia, requesting assistance after being held at gunpoint and robbed of his phone by the suspect.

A Reaction Officer then contacted the control room to report the incident. We dispatched multiple officers to assist in tracking down the suspect.

Officers located the suspect described by the victim, and a pursuit ensued. The suspect was blocked in by the officers and successfully apprehended.

Upon further investigation, it was determined that the firearm used in the robbery was a plastic replica. The suspect was taken into custody without further incident.

This report will be submitted for further investigation and potential prosecution. No injuries were reported during the incident.
