Melkbosstrand police arrest suspect with drugs worth more than R300 000

City of Cape Town Law Enforcement found a person that appeared to be very confused and walking on the R27 just passed Koeberg Power Station.

An ambulance was called out as well as Melkbosstrand SAPS members. On arrival, the person was found with a black suitcase and a black bucket. The members interviewed the person and could see the man was heavily under the influence. On searching the person, they found magic mushrooms and dagga in the bucket. They then searched the suitcase and found prescription medication, methamphetamine and cocaine inside.

The suspect was taken back to his vehicle, which had run out of petrol on the R27. He was then placed under arrest and taken to Melkbosstrand SAPS. He was searched and found in possession of approximately 192grams of cocaine, 1458 grams of magic mushrooms, 88grams of dagga, 336 Ecstasy tablets, 108grams of Meth as well as prescription drugs such as Oxynorm, Tramadol, Serdep and Ketamin. The total value is approximately R306 000-00. There were also other tablets in his possession that still need to be identified.

A case of possession of drugs, dagga, and prescription drugs has been opened. The 23 year old male will appear in Atlantis Magistrate Court on 10 March 2025 on the mentioned charges.
