Police in KwaZulu-Natal arrested a 28-year-old suspect for the murder of Busani Khomo (57), who was gunned down at Sofasonke Road on 5 December 2024 as he was driving out of the school premises. A murder docket was opened and handed over to the Provincial Serious and Violent Crimes Unit for further investigation.
Police conducted an intelligence driven operation at Mpumalanga Township on 11 March 2025 which led to the arrest of the suspect. An intense and extensive investigation was conducted by detectives which culminated in the arrest of the 28-year-old suspect.
Police also seized a pair of pants which is suspected to have been worn by the suspect during the commission of the offence. The suspect was subsequently charged for murder and is due to appear before the Hammarsdale Magistrates’ Court on 12 March 2025.
Investigations in this matter are still ongoing and more arrests are imminent.
