Vala Umgodi Operation members in Mopani District nabbed a male suspect aged 28 for illegally mining sand at Molati illegal site, in Letsitele Policing area, on Tuesday, 11 March 2025, at around 20h30.
The team members received an intelligence, which they accurately followed up, and they successfully nabbed the suspect.
The suspect was found in possession of items, which include a cellphone, shovel, pick, bin, and buckets. All items were confiscated and kept at the local police station.
The suspect will appear before the local Magistrate’s Court.
The Police investigations are ongoing.
