KZN VIP Response and Tactical Officers were conducting a routine patrol in the Newlands West Drive area when they observed a male suspect, wearing a cream-colored shirt and pants. The suspect was seen carrying an municipality power cable that appeared to have been cut.
KZN VIP Response and Tactical Officers promptly detained the suspect for questioning. When asked where he had obtained the cables, the suspect failed to provide a reasonable explanation. As a result, the suspect was formally apprehended for possession of stolen property.
KZN VIP Control Centre immediately contacted SAPS for further processing, and the suspect was handed over to SAPS officers for further investigation.
