On Monday 17 March 2025 at around 09:00, the Ekurhuleni Metropolitan Police Department (EMPD) Social Crime Prevention Unit Officers conducted an awareness on homeless people in the Edenvale area.
The purpose of the awareness is to do an audit and place homeless people, street beggars and street children at shelter or a place of safety. Through the audit, officers can determine what is the persons origin and if we can help reunite them with there families or a place of safety.
This will enhance and contribute to road safety and general safety getting people of the road and not begging at intersections.
