At approximately 19:12, KZN VIP Control Centre received multiple calls from concerned residents reporting a house fire in the Drinham area, Phoenix. In response, KZN VIP Response officers and KZN VIP Medical teams were immediately dispatched to the scene.
Upon arrival KZN VIP Response officers made contact with the homeowner, who explained that he had not been at home during the day. Upon his return, he discovered his house was ablaze.
Fortunately, there were no injuries, as the homeowner confirmed that no one was inside at the time the fire began. The cause of the fire remains unconfirmed.
Community members reported seeing individuals leaving the home shortly before the fire was noticed. Despite efforts to contain the flames, the fire quickly spread and became uncontrollable, prompting the evacuation of nearby residents for safety. Additional fire trucks were called to assist in controlling the fire.
All emergency services, including fire, medical, and law enforcement teams, were in attendance to manage the situation and ensure the safety of the public.
