At approximately 21:00 an urgent appeal for assistance was recieved from professional snake catcher, Jason Arnold, for a family dog who was in a critical condition following a tussle with a Green Mamba at a family residence in Newlands East, Durban.
Ensure Security’s General Manager, Kyle van Reenen, a trained intermediate Life Support paramedic and internationally accredited K9 medic, responded to the call for assistance.
On arrival on scene the dog was found in a critical condition. Several intervention methods were utilized under the telephonic consultation of a veterinarian to stabilize the dog, whilst Jason worked behind the scenes to attempt to raise money for further veterinary care.
Shortly after midnight, thanks to the generous donations of many, she was rushed to Westville Veterinary Hospital where she recieved much needed anti venom and was placed onto a mechanical ventilator to aid her to recover.
