SAPS Newlands, in collaboration with KZNVIP and other law enforcement agencies, conducted random school searches as part of ongoing efforts to maintain discipline and ensure learner safety.
During these operations, multiple prohibited items, including knives and cellphones, were found in the possession of learners. These items were confiscated, and the implicated students will now face disciplinary action from their respective schools. Those found with dangerous weapons may face further consequences in line with the law.
This serves as a clear warning to all scholars that SAPS, along with its security partners, is adopting a zero-tolerance approach to violence and misconduct in schools.
We thank the community and all stakeholders for their continued support.
