After a 10-day intelligence-led operation, the EThekwini Infrastructure Task Team (EITT) executed a successful arrest and firearm recovery mission in the Inanda policing precinct.
Members operated undercover and on rest days to track down suspects linked to illegal firearms. The final operation saw multiple teams simultaneously search four properties across Inanda and Amaoti.
Results of the operation:
● 3 suspects arrested
● 4 illegal firearms recovered, including a shotgun and Norinco pistol
● Ammunition and magazines seized
Charges:
●Possession of unlicensed firearms and ammunition
Exhibits Recovered:
1. Silver pistol with a magazine and 4 live rounds
2. Two pistols (one Norinco), 2 magazines, and 5 live rounds
3. Shotgun with serial number
