Continued efforts to curb gang violence in the Muizenberg policing precinct yielded success when police members arrested a suspect for the possession of an unlicensed firearm and ammunition in the early hours of Monday morning.
Members of Public Order Police searched a premises in Gladiola Street, Hillview, and arrested a 24-year-old male when they found a 9mm pistol and 108 rounds of ammunition in the house. The suspect could not produce a firearm license or a permit to possess the firearm.
Members of Public Order Police deployed in Manenberg area arrested two males age 33 and 41 in Tees Road Manenberg, on Sunday, 20 April 2025, when they searched the identified premises and found 65 packets containing crushed mandrax and 16 packets containing crystal meth in the house. The suspects face a charge for the possession of drugs.
The suspects will make their respective court appearances in the Muizenberg and Athlone Magistrates’ courts tomorrow, 22 April 2025.
