On Thursday 24 April 2025 at around 11:05, the Ekurhuleni Metropolitan Police Department (EMPD) Edenvale Precinct officers arrested a twenty-one (21) year-old Tanzanian male national in the Edenvale area.
While conducting crime prevention duties at a taxi rank, Officers spotted a suspicious male and was approached. A body search was conducted, were he was found in possession of white plastic that contained multiple ziplocks of cannabis (dagga) which weighed 787 grams and a total cash of R238.
The suspect was immediately arrested and detained at Edenvale Police Station, facing charges of possession of illegal substances and possible dealing. He is expected to appear at the Edenvale Magistrate’s Court soon.
