Police respond swiftly to robbery at petrol station in Lebowakgomo, recover various items

Members of the Provincial Flying Squad in Limpopo responded swiftly to a robbery that took place during the early hours of Monday, 28 April 2025, at a petrol station in Ga-Chuene, within the Lebowakgomo policing precinct, leading to recovery of the various items.

At approximately 03:00, members of the unit received a complaint of a robbery in progress, where employees were held hostage and the firearm of a security guard was forcibly taken. Police officers immediately responded to the scene. Upon noticing the arrival of the police, the suspects fled on foot into nearby bushes.

Members pursued the suspects and, during the chase, several items were abandoned, including: a grinder, cutting discs, a crowbar/iron bar, balaclava, a flat-screen television and various stock items taken from the petrol station.

A manhunt for the suspects is ongoing. Anyone with information that may assist in their apprehension is urged to contact the investigating officer, Sergeant Millet Letoaba, at 072 576 0974, or to call the SAPS Crime Stop number on 08600 10111. Information can also be shared anonymously via the MySAPS App or by visiting the nearest police station.
