A taxi driver has died and two passengers have sustained moderate injuries after the taxi they were in rolled on Saturday night in Piet Retief Road in Malvern just before 8pm.
Rescue Care paramedics arrived to find the taxi on its wheels. The critically injured driver was still inside the wreckage whilst the passengers had climbed out of the vehicle. Paramedics quickly started working on the injured. The critically injured driver was stabilized on scene and rushed to a nearby hospital however due to the severity of his injuries he past away a short while later. The two passengers were also transported to hospital in a stable condition.
At this stage it is unclear what caused the single vehicle to roll however SAPS were on scene and will be investigating the accident further.
