A thirty five year old man is in a serious condition following a head on collision on the offramp to the M19 from the N2 south bound this evening.
The ‘jaws of life’ were needed to cut the man free after Crisis Medical paramedics found him still entrapped in his vehicle following the crash.
Ethekwini Fire and Rescue services were called to assist and the man was carefully extricated before being taken by ambulance to a nearby hospital for further care.
Eyewitnesses allege a delivery vehicle travelled against the flow of traffic, up the off ramp, resulting in the collision, however the exact facts are unknown. The driver of the delivery vehicle was unharmed.
The local authorities were on scene and are investigating further.
