A 64-year-old man was trampled to death by a buffalo at the Mountain Zebra National Park, outside Cradock, on Monday, said Western Cape police.
“The deceased, his wife and two friends were on a hiking trail when they were attacked,” said Captain Stefanie Smith.
“The man was killed and the others also sustained injuries and were taken to the Cradock hospital.”
She said the incident took place just after 11:00.
Smith said the couple was from Somerset West. Police were withholding the man’s name.
