A six-year-old boy has drowned this afternoon at a pool in Eldorado Park, west of Johannesburg.
ER24 paramedics were called to the Eldarado Park Fire station to assist with a patient that had been brought in.
On arrival, paramedics found the child being treated by staff at the fire station.
On assessment, paramedics found that the young patient showed no signs of life.
Paramedics began CPR and provided the patient with advanced life support treatment.
Unfortunately, after 20 minutes of treatment, no signs of life returned and the boy was declared dead.
It is understood that the boy was brought to the fire station by his father after he was found lying in a swimming pool.
Local authorities were called to the scene for further investigations.
