Forty-eight people were injured when two trains collided in Natalspruit on the East Rand on Friday, Metrorail said.
Spokesperson Tu Dlamini said the injured had been taken to hospitals around the East Rand.
“There are no casualties, or serious injuries,” she said.
A passenger train from Vereeniging heading for Germiston collided with a freight train at about 11:35.
The cause of the accident was not known, she said.
