Police Minister Bheki Cele has applauded the sterling work of the operational divisions of the police in apprehending five suspects linked to a clandestine drug syndicate. A joint investigation by the Western Cape and Gauteng Hawks, Crime Intelligence Counter Narcotics, Gauteng Public Oder Police and Forensic Science Laboratory has led to the arrest of five suspects for allegedly dealing in drugs.
On Sunday the multi-faceted team executed a search and seizure operation at Ventura Street, Meyerton Farms, Johannesburg, and dismantled a fully-equipped clandestine methamphetamine (TIK) manufacturing drug laboratory.
During the course of the search, investigators located a series of items consistent with the manufacture and use of methamphetamine as well as an active methamphetamine cook.
