Western Cape: The vigilance and swift response by members of Khayelitsha SAPS resulted in the arrest of a 43 year old male for the possession of an unlicensed firearm and ammunition at the Khayelitsha Magistrate’s court this morning. The members reacted on a tip-off that there will be a shooting at the court and conducted an operation in pursuit of the suspect.
The suspect was caught in possession of a CZ 9mm pistol with 15 rounds of ammunition which we believe would have been used to commit a more serious crime today. Once charged, the suspect will be due to appear in the same court where he was arrested.
