The police in Williston have recovered 41 bank cards and 26 identity document documents from fraudsters yesterday.
The discovery of the 41 bank cards follows the
Arrest of three suspects after they were found in possession of bank and SASSA cards in Williston last week.
The 41 bank cards recovered are as follows :
Nine Easy Pay cards
15 SASSA cards
17 Standard Bank cards
4 Post Office cards
In total 63 cards and 42 identity documents were confiscated.
R15 320.00 cash money was confiscated from the suspects.
A Mazda Sedan vehicle used by the suspects was also confiscated.
It is suspected the suspects were fraudulently withdrawing money from unsuspecting victim’s bank accounts.
The three suspects appeared before the Fraserberg Magistrates Court yesterday and their case was postponed to 24 January 2019. They were granted bail of R2000 each with conditions: that they should report at Williston police station every Fridays, that they should not commit similar offenses and that when they leave Williston policing precinct, they should notify the investigating Officer.
