Aerocare performed an emergency flight yesterday, the 12th of February after a serious road accident. The patient was transferred from Bethlehem to Bloemfontein Medic-Clinic. The patient, Letebe Soai was in a motor vehicle accident and suffered both head and eye injuries. He arrived at the Bloemfontein Medi – Clinic hospital at 22h55 and his condition is described as stable.
Today, Sunday 13 February 2011, Aerocare is transferring a 16 year old patient from Nelspruit to Yzerfontein. The patient has cancer in the small brain and is critically ill.
Aerocare’s flight from Bloemfontein to Nelspruit to pick up a cancer patient, Danie Snyman, 16 years old, was truly a Mercy Flight. Danie’s parents heard about a rehab centre for cancer patients in Yzerfontein and wanted to take their son there. Danie’s uncle volunteered to pay for the flight to take the boy to the rehab centre. Danie’s mother accompanied her son on the flight. This is the last that his family can do for him.
The crew took off from Bloemfontein at 10:20 and landed at Nelspruit at 12:04. Took off from Nelspruit at 12:55 and landed at Langebaan at 16:25. They took off again from Langebaan at 17:18 and landed in Bloemfontein at 19:10. A total of 3076km was flown.
