KING WILLIAMS TOWN – The South African Police Service in Uitenhage are investigating a case of murder after a 23-year-old man was fatally wounded in the upper body at 16:30 today, Sunday, 16 February 2020. Police were summoned to the scene at Willowdam, Channer Street, Uitenhage, after two armed suspects allegedly shot at the 23-year-old as he was seated with a group of friends. The victim had multiple gunshot wounds in the upper body and was declared dead on the scene.
The suspects fled allegedly from the scene on foot. The motive for the murder is not known at this stage and the case is being investigated.
The acting Uitenhage Cluster Commander, Brig Ronald Koll has condemned the shooting incident and has instructed that the perpetrator/s must be brought to book.
