Two Toyota Corollas collided head on on Long Market Street leaving 4 people injured.
ER24 Pietermaritzburg paramedics at the scene explained that a new model and older model Corolla collided head on at the intersection of Long Market and Commercial Streets. The older model Corollas two front occupants were left with serious injuries and were entrapped in the vehicle. The man sitting in the back of the vehicle sustained moderate injury. Both of the front occupants needed to be removed from the wreckage after the Fire and Rescue workers had cut them out using the Jaws of Life. The three young adults were treated on scene and taken to a nearby hospital for further treatment.
The man in his 40’s, who was the driver and only occupant of the newer model Corolla suffered moderate injury and was taken to hospital by ambulance.
