A two year old girl was injured this morning after falling approximately ten meters from a balcony at a game lodge in Bela Bela.
A family with their two year old girl was enjoying the end of their long weekend at the game lodge in Bela Bela. The girl was playing on the second floor of the building when she fell approximately ten meters down to the ground floor.
When Paramedics arrived at the lodge they found the girl in her baby seat with her parents calming her. The girl was obviously upset at the events of the morning. Due to the terrain surrounding the lodge and the distance to the nearest appropriate medical facility, on scene paramedics dispatched the ER24 Discovery Medicopter to the scene to airlift the girl to hospital.
Whilst waiting for the Medicopter to land at the lodge the paramedics stabalised the girl and immobilized her to special equipment. The girl was then airlifted to Montana hospital in a stable condition for further treatment.
