GAUTENG – Ifeanyi Isreal Onuohi (36), and Chukuibe Anyaebu (47), were arrested by the Hawks’ Serious Organised Crime Investigation team in Jeppestown on Sunday, 04 October 2020, for dealing in drugs.
The pair were arrested following a tip-off that they were peddling and distributing drugs in downtown Johannesburg. The observation was then conducted at the identified street corners. Both suspects were approached and searched resulting in an undisclosed amount of cash as well as crack cocaine worth R350 000 being found in the boot of a vehicle that was parked nearby.
Both suspects made their first appearance in the Jeppestown Magistrate’s Court on Monday, 05 October 2020. The court has remanded them in custody pending further investigations that are aimed at unearthing their involvement in similar offenses in the area and elsewhere.
They are expected back in the same court next week Monday, 12 October 2020 where they are expected to apply for bail.
