On Thursday, 4 February 2021, members of the Provincial Organised Crime Unit, Special Task Force, and K9 Unit went to a farm situated in the Appelsbosch area to execute a search warrant.
Upon arrival at the farm, they met a 37-year-old man and the house was searched. Upon searching the house, police recovered a pistol, shotgun, and an AK47 firearm. A total of 154 various rounds of ammunition was seized by police. Various drugs such as mandrax, cocaine, and heroin to the value of R4 000-00 was seized inside the house. During the operation, a bakkie was found at the premises.
Upon checking the vehicle it was discovered that the vehicle’s engine was tampered with as it did not match with the registration. The vehicle had no logbook or license disk. It was then impounded to the police pound for further investigation.
The suspect was placed under arrest for possession of illegal firearms, ammunition, and possession of drugs. The suspect appeared in the New Hanover Magistrates’ Court today.
