Police officers from the Provincial Drug and Firearm Unit conducted an operation in the Phoenix area yesterday, which resulted in the successful arrest of two suspects who were found in possession of drugs. This is after police had received information about drug dealing at Cairn Park in Phoenix. The police officers proceeded to the said area and conducted observation.
The targets were identified and the police officers pounced on them. A search was conducted and police recovered 672 capsules of heroin and 119 pieces of rock cocaine. Two suspects aged 19 and 32 were arrested for possession and dealing in drugs. The suspects were also found with R729-00 in cash. The estimated street value of the recovered drugs is R32 060-00. Both suspects are appearing before the Verulam Magistrates Court today.
