Residents from Panorama Residents Association Weltevredenpark notified us via the emergency group about a fire that has broken out behind a property.
Members from Honeydew Community Police Forum – CPF Community Group Firefighter Association-NPC Beagle Watch Armed Response and EC Security was notified and responded to the scene and it was found that an illegal refuse collection point has caught alight.
City of Joburg EMS was notified and the skid unit from station 20 was dispatched. They immediately started putting out the fire which took them around 40 minutes.
We would like to thank everyone for the quick response. This fire could have been worse if it was not for their quick actions as trees started burning.
