One male suspect was arrested by the Johannesburg Metropolitan Police Department (JMPD) IIOC Undercover Unit in the Johannesburg Inner City for the possession of stolen property, a cellphone.
On Friday 15 April 2022 whilst on patrol, officers received a complaint of a suspect selling cellphones which are suspected to be stolen.
Officers proceeded to the complainant and mobilized to meet with the suspect, who was attempting to scam the complainant with a locked Apple iPhone 11.
Officers investigated and discovered that the iPhone was taken from a house break-in as per Kliprivier SAPS case.
A sting operation was conducted and officers managed to meet with the suspect who was found in possession of the stolen iPhone.
He was immediately arrested and detained at Johannesburg Central SAPS. He will likely appear in court soon.
